Joyn app entry with hand images, symptom scores and medication

Keep track of how you’re doing

Once a week, record your symptoms and medication and take standardised hand images using the Joyn mobile app. You can also add comments for your rheumatologist and record hand-grip videos.

Your previous entries stay available, so you can check how things have changed over time.

Share your updates with your doctor

With a Connect+ subscription, you can share your weekly entries with your rheumatologist.

Your rheumatologist can see how you have been doing since your last appointment without you needing another appointment just to provide an update.

Make your appointments count

It can be difficult to remember exactly how you felt several weeks or months ago.

Joyn gives you a record of what happened between appointments, so you and your rheumatologist have more information to work with when you meet.

Common questions

Can I use Joyn for free?
Yes. You can use Joyn to record and check your arthritis information yourself without a subscription. You only need a Connect+ subscription if you want to share your entries directly with your rheumatologist through Joyn.
How often do I use the app?
We recommend one entry per week. Each entry takes a few minutes: photos of both hands, short symptom questions (pain, stiffness, fatigue and overall health) and your current medication. A built-in tutorial guides you step by step.
What if my rheumatologist doesn’t use Joyn yet?
To share your entries through Connect+, your rheumatologist needs to be part of a Healthcare Provider using the Joyn dashboard. If they don’t use Joyn yet, you can send us their contact details and we can invite them to join.
Does Joyn tell me if my arthritis is getting worse?
No. Joyn records and displays the information you provide. It does not assess your disease activity or tell you what treatment you need. Your rheumatologist can use the information you share through Joyn to help assess how you are doing and decide whether follow-up may be needed.
Who can see what I submit?
If you have a Connect+ subscription, the Healthcare Provider you choose to connect with can access the information you share.
Does my rheumatologist check Joyn all the time?
No. How often your information is reviewed depends on your Healthcare Provider and how they use Joyn.
Can I use Joyn instead of seeing my rheumatologist?
No. Joyn helps you track your arthritis and share information between appointments. Your rheumatologist decides when consultations, examinations or other care are needed.
Is Joyn for emergencies?
No. Joyn is not an emergency service. If you need urgent medical attention, use the appropriate local medical or emergency service.
I have a technical problem. Who do I contact?
Write to support@detectra.app and we will help you as quickly as we can. If you take part in a pilot study, you can also ask the staff at your pilot site.
